I agree it is become really over employed, this word, though it really is use was often a bit subjective. "Gourmet" utilized to refer to a person who not only liked, but could determine fine meals, created from the best ingredients obtainable, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented at the table. The word then grew to become an adjective to describe "the sort of meals a goumet would eat." A snack bar is unlikely to meet any of these criteria, allow alone all of them. Mind you, it would be a wonderful challenge to cooks out there to request them to come up with a true "goumet" snack bar!
