do companies put french labeling on american items as a marketing approach?

Query by none: do firms put french labeling on american items as a marketing and advertising technique? i see a lot of items on keep shelves, mostly "gourmet" meals and cosmetics, that have french labeling on them even though 99% of the time the merchandise have nothing at all to do with france and are american produced. No. It just allows them to tap into the French Canadian market without increasing their manufacturing expenses. They will not want to separately wrap each and every product that will be sold in Quebec. That is a large market place. Also in the French West Indies.
